I love Jason Mraz! There's this tiny concert venue near Sea World called Canes, I used to go there a lot for $10 concerts with my friends. When I was about 18 I remember we were waiting to show our IDs and get in, and we heard one of the opening acts singing "Rocket Man." Then he just kept singing Elton John songs. We had no idea who he was, and when we got in we still had no idea who he was. We bought his cd that only had 3 tracks on it (I think it was $1) and we STILL had no idea who he was. Yep...Jason Mraz. He owns an avocado farm in the same part of San Diego County that I'm from. Cool, huh?
I love how Seseme Street throws in things just for us adults... the kids couldn't care less who is singing the songs, but for us, we get excited to see celebrities singing, dancing, or talking to Elmo and the gang.
and ooops, just noticed I messed up the size of that video... looks a little funky, but oh well!
Oh! This is kind of unrelated, but I'm taking this history of rock class. The first day we were all introducing ourselves and talking about our favorite musicians/bands. This one guy was all "my all time hands down favorite is Bryan Adams. Bryan Adams rules." People were sort of making fun of him (there's a lot of really young people there who like to say that bands like "Five Finger Death Punch" are the best bands ever.) I backed him up and agreed, Bryan Adams rules. (I spelled something wrong in my last comment and wanted to fix it, sheesh, why does it have to tell on me?!)
So cute! Thanks for making me smile (and I love both versions of that song).
